Minah Choi

(she/hers) is a master’s student in the Energy Resources Group. Her research examines the geographies of waste in Argentina, focusing on how issues surrounding solid urban waste, and its proposed solutions, are socially produced by different actors in the western wetlands of Paraná, Entre Ríos. Using ethnographic and archival methods, Minah’s master’s project pays close attention to everyday practices of care and reclamation of wasteland imaginaries. Her work draws on discard studies, environmental justice, and political ecology. Minah holds a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Analysis from Pomona College.
