Transformative Agroecology and Transdisciplinary Participatory Action Research in Latin America. Prof. Mateo Mier y Teran

Led by Professor Mateo Mier y Teran (Department of Agriculture, Society and the Environment, College of the Southern Border (ECOSUR) Chiapas, Mexico) Transformative Agroecology and Learning Communities in Mexico consists of a talk and a workshop through which we will explore agroecology as a transdisciplinary field and its potential to transform food systems. While the talk will focus on agroecology as a transformative arena and its relation to the socio-economic construction of territorial markets in Mexico and Latin America, the workshop will hone in on participatory action research and the facilitation of communities of learning and practice as an opportunity to bridge different forms of knowledge for the co-construction of a transformative agroecology.
